Manupatra Information Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (Manupatra) and Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) are organizing a one-day Seminar on Emerging Concepts in Company Law-The Companies Bill 2006(Draft) and the LLP.

Ministry of Company Affairs has circulated a Concept Paper on Limited Liability Partnerships by which it is proposing to create a new legal entity combining the benefits of a partnership with that of a body corporate. Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) is a new business structure combining the benefit of limited liability along with the tax status of partnership firms. LLP will be a new entity option and will give the owners the flexibility of operating as a partnership whilst providing them limited liability. It combines the benefits of a partnership with that of a private limited company whilst retaining adequate safeguards to protect creditors' interests.

The New Companies Bill 2006(Draft) that is to be piloted by Ministry Of Company Affairs would enable e-governance in corporate processes, compliance and regulation. The draft bill proposal to provide a framework for seamless transition from one form to the other. This would result in efficiency in professional services and statutory supervision of corporate processes. It would strike balance between rehabilitation and liquidation process

The one day Seminar has been specially structured to provide Information on Companies Bill 2006 (Draft) and the Limited Liability Partnerships.
