Department of Electronics and IT Order to mandate compulsory registration of 15 Electronic Goods

Department of Electronics and IT has issued the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012, bringing into force a scheme for mandatory regime of registration of identified 15 electronic products so that these products meet specified safety standards.

Bangladesh Parliament passes Hindu Marriage Act

Bangladesh Parliament has passed the Hindu marriage registration law aiming to provide legal and social protection to Hindu women from marriage-related cheating. The Act has kept the provision of marriage registration optional. It has authorised government authorities to appoint a Hindu Marriage Registrar at every ward across the country. The registrar will not register marriage of a woman below 18 years of age and a man under 21 years.
